“The Relentless Patriot” is a documentary film about political activist and artist Scott LoBaido from New Dorp, Staten Island. The documentary is made by Christopher Martini.
LoBaido has been a patriotic artist for years, and has recently gained prominence during the current fight against globalist totalitarianism, and Donald Trump’s 2016, 2020, and 2024 Presidential campaigns and the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.
I saw the movie when it first came out at the Regal Theater in Tottenville on June 12, 2024. I was not expecting it to be good — being that it was a documentary.
It was actually Very good — a really excellent, heart-warming, inspirational movie.
The movie covers Scott’s journey as an artist. Scott has become renowned and loved for painting inspiring art of the American flag on canvas, with large-scale versions on schools, homes, firehouses, and police stations for over 25 years.
Flags Across America
At the heart of the movie is coverage of Scott’s “Flags Across America” tour. In 2006, long before the Trump and the MAGA Movement, Scott journeyed across the United States in a 1989 Chevy Suburban, painting an American flag on a rooftop in each of the 50 states. He relied on donations of paint, food, and money. ABC featured him as person of the week.
