SI Ferry Purchased by Pete Davidson Infested with Cockroaches & Asbestos

The John F Kennedy ferry boat that Pete Davidson and Colin Jost bought on auction for $280,000 to turn into a floating nightclub, is infested with roaches and full of asbestos — which are requiring $millions in repairs, according to former captain of the boat, Kevin Hennesey, in a NY Daily News article published this week.

Hennessey also told the Daily News that the boat’s engine was compromised by a fire that broke out in the machine room just after the ferry was decommissioned — and before the comedians purchased the boat.

However, Paul Italia — a comedy club owner and one of the co-investors who purchased the boat with Davidson and Jost — said Hennessey’s assessment of the ferry’s state “garbage information,” and said the owners would announce plans and timeline for the ferry’s future by the end of the year.

The John F Kennedy is one of the classic boats build in 1965 — and any rider can tell you, it had roaches back when it was in use. But they were kept in check.
