A 1990 mob movie based on a true story — a film adaptation of Nicholas Pileggi’s 1985 nonfiction book Wiseguy. The movie was directed by Martin Scorsese, written by Pileggi and Scorsese, and produced by Irwin Winkler.
Plot
The movie follows the real-life travails of Henry Hill (played by Ray Liotta), who in 1955 becomes enamored of the mob life growing up in Brooklyn. Hill begins working for local mobster Paulie Cicero (played by Paul Sorvino) and his associates Jimmy “the Gent” Conway (played by Robert De Niro), an Irish truck hijacker and gangster, and Tommy DeVito (played by Joe Pesci), another young mobster.
