Movies Filmed on Staten Island: “Easy Money” with Rodney Dangerfield

Amongst many famous movies filmed on Staten Island is “Easy Money”, a comedy that Rodney Dangerfield wrote and starred in — filmed in Staten Island in 1982 and released in 1983. It also starred Joe Pesci, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Candice Azzara, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. It was directed by James Signorelli.

Dangerfield plays “Monty” Capuletti, a heavy-drinking, pot-smoking, gambling family man who makes his living as a baby photographer in New Dorp.

Dangerfield loves his wife but dislikes his mother-in-law, a very wealthy woman who runs a successful department store chain. She dies unexpectedly and it is discovered that she has written in her will that Rodney and his fail will get $10 million if he is able to curb his vices for a year by going on a diet and giving up drugs and gambling.

Will not spoil the ending here but it is a fun movie to watch.
